There's Always A Comedian

To those complaing about some of my posts not having track numbers in the track names (Mick D), and the tracks un-RARing in alpha order....all the tracks are "IPOD ready" with track numbers in the ID Tags. So, if for some reason, whatever system/software you are using does not recognize the ID tags, they will be in alpha order. Get an IPod and iTunes. The best piece of technology ever developed on the planet. More important than aspirin. I dare you to say different. I pitty the poor fool without an IPod.

Save Me Please!

Save me from rookie posters. Save me from posters who have no respect for the music and no respect for the downloader. I am tired of downloading shows with crap for ID tags. No track numbers, no track names, no album names. There is no way to tell what track is what without listening to the whole show. Take the time to do it right or don't do it at all is my opinion. Come on. You post one or two shows a week. You can't take the time to fill out the tags once to save the 200 people who download a show the effort of doing it 200 separate times? Again about passwords....Cut it out! You didn't create the music. Is that you playing guitar? Chances are you downloaded from some other site and reposted. It's just damn rude! Quit posting links in the damned comments. If people want to leave comments they will or they won't. There...I said it. I feel better.

Answering Some Comments

1. I'll be on the lookout for some Blood Sweat And Tears.

2. Some recently snarfed Tom Petty will be posted next week. 2 shows currently in flac files. Takes time to convert, type in track names intp the Mp3 files, and upload. But for you...I do it.
I also have some nice Bob Marley floating around somewhere.

3. To all the kind folks that have offered to snail mail shows to me. If I was a single guy, I would have no problem giving out my address. However, I am not. My wife would do things to me I dare not speak of if I gave my address out. Thanks for the offer. I would love to get links to shows in my email, though.

4. I do have a Semisonic show. It is a bit rough. It's an audience show. It's the only one I have found so far. I will get around to posting it soon.

5. Yes I did find a La's show. All but one really sucked to my ears. Even this one is rough but it is the bext La's show I have found so far. I will post it tomorrow.

Here at last is the ubiquitous Starship concert in its most complete form. The only thing missing is the very end of Volunteers, otherwise the show is totally complete as it happened.

The tracks labeled "Off The Trees" are rants by the group, who were being egged on by the New York Park Police to get the fans out of the trees. Depending upon how you look at it, it's either a drag to the concert, or hysterically funny.

Grace is in rare form. She sounds sharp, alert, and on edge. Her voice, although just starting to go, is still strong and powerful.

It's a great set!

Mission Of Burma 2004-10-16 - Cat's Cradle @ VBR

Wikipedia says: Like many of their post-punk and no wave contemporaries, Mission of Burma's efforts are largely concerned with extending punk's original vocabulary without losing its essential rebellious spirit. What makes Burma's approach so distinct is their formal musical training and grounding in modern classical music (Miller had formally studied piano, tuba and composition in college) and to a lesser extent their faith in the sound of late 1960s and early 1970s proto-punk pioneers the MC5 and the Stooges, both from Michigan, Miller's and Swope's home state.

Using rapid shifts in dynamics, unconventional time signatures and chord progressions along with tape effects, Mission of Burma challenges the prevailing idioms of punk while attempting to retain its power and immediacy. On a purely intellectual level, Burma's approach is similar to that of Glenn Branca (another early Burma contemporary) and later Branca disciples Sonic Youth.

While in early years Burma's audience was limited, with all their recordings released on the small Boston-based record label Ace of Hearts, today Mission of Burma is widely acknowledged as one of the first groups to achieve the potential of modern alternative/independent rock, fusing punk and experimental music into some of the most influential music to come out of the American punk/no wave scene
