With Success Comes A Price

I received my first notice from a copyright holder to remove a post. King Crimson to be exact. It has me a little scared. I had assumed I was safe posting bootlegs. Now, maybe not. I removed the post. What do I do now? Shut down the blog? Try to take it private again? I may have a way, but it may crap out like the last time. Your thoughts? Insights? Ideas? Send me an email at blind-pig@live.com or leave a comment under any post.

this is a real beauty of a show..the lips are just so damn spacey live these days....not like when i saw them many many years ago in their early days,at some small pub venue in camden town. the gig space was a windowless blacksquare room probably the former cellar that you had to climb down a very steep wooden staircase. there was a tiny stage and the place was packed...there was maybe seventy people there and it was that small.
i think there was something like four guitarists on stage...all well and good...except for the fact that for somereason all four cybals on the drum kit were turned upside down and there were all these cans of gasoline sat here and there about the cramped stage.. halfway through the first number we found out why when various band members starting filling up the upturned cybals and setting the gas alight. scarey enough, but then when the drummer would hit a cymbal..goats of flame would fly everywhere. the audience to a man took a step back and since this high dangerous and worrying thing continued for the whole show, we all had one eye on the narrow steep staircase that was the only way out of this hole....oh god i remember thinking, we are all going to die at a flaming lips show!

Don't know where you got this one but its great! I was at this show, the Lips were headlining the first night of D-Fest, which is a Tulsa festival which shows off local (or at least Oklahoma) bands, around 150 played over two days. The squeaky voiced female intro-ing the Lips is Tulsa's mayor. The show was outside and it was hot as hell! A typical Oklahoma summer night. Keep your eyes open for a copy of the next night's headliner Leon Russell, he put on a dandy show also but without any of the special effects that the Lips brought to bear.
